Window Cleaning
Summer is here -- and if on those sunny days all you see are streaks when you look out the window it is time to clean. I use dish washing liquid in warm water and put the solution on the window with a sponge and take it off with a squeegee. don't use the sponge to clean the windows too because it will be full of dirt and then you are just swishing the dirt around. Have plenty of clean dry towels or non-lint paper towels to dry off teh squeegee each time to pull it across the window.
I like to clean my windows with each change of season so ! don't forget!

Change of Seasons Clothing Clean out
This is a great week to start putting winter clothing away. Review each item -- is it worn or have you not worn it the last year or two? Does it fit? Or are you tired of it? Give away these items and you will limit the clutter.
Dust the space where you store off-season clothing and be sure to place the clothing in canvas bags. Only put away clean clothing so you are ready to go for the next change for season. Put any item that needs mending or tailoring in a separate place and carve out time to do what is needed.
Happy Spring!

Selling a Home Keeps It Clean
My apartment is for sale and each day we have prospective buyers looking. So I have to keep the place in tip top shape. I do a quick clean of the bathrooms, kitchen and vacuum twice a week in the hallways. I take a duct cloth over each surface as needed. I took furniture out of each room -- and I don't even miss what was removed. My home feels even better to me now so the lesson I am learning is -- less is more and that I don't have to dust it either.

Cleaning Supplies in Each Bathroom
Keep a few cleaning supplies in each bathroom -- paper towels/cleaning cloths and a small dish washing liquid or cleaning wipes. Also glass cleaner and toilet cleaner. That way you can go from bathroom to bathroom and clean up quick in-between your weekly cleanings. If you wipe down the counter top and the sink each day it will keep one of your most-used rooms clean each day. And it can be quick -- a minute or two is all you need.

Questions Answered: "How Do I Start Cleaning and How Do I Stay Organized and Stick With It?"
One of our MyCleaningPlan.com site visitors asked this question and here is our answer:
Do you have a calendar where you put all your appointments, things to do etc? Figure out when is the best time or times for you to clean and make an appointment on your calendar for you to clean.
Make a plan at mycleaningplan.com and the plan can be emailed to you once a week for you to follow.
Do you want to clean all at once or break it up over a few days?
One way is to keep the kitchen clean every day -- this makes life much easier. Wipe down counter tops, clean the sink, clean the table and sweep the floor.
You could do all the bathrooms on one day and change sheets and clean the bedrooms on another day. The vacuuming could be done all at once.
What ever you decide just start and then see what works for you. You can adjust your plan as you go along.
Give yourself a reward for getting the job done -- a cup of tea or coffee, time to read or watch a favorite show or movie. The rewards don't need to be big -- just little things that you like. Or play music or time yourself -- whatever motivates you.
Do you have a suggestion or another question about cleaning? Make a comment and let us know what you think.

Incentive to Clean -- Host a Party
There is no better way to motivate yourself to clean your home than to invite people over for a party or event. Now you have a deadline and motivation. You can organize your cleaning over the time until the party and also get some of your infrequent takes done. Clean all light fixtures, dust ceilings and crown mouldings, have your carpets cleaned etc.
I did this recently and after the party I only had to do a very quick clean-up and the place looked great.
